Cream Hair Removal 2

By:
A popular way to remove body hair is the use of cream hair removal products. These products can be used at home safely as long as the directions are followed closely. Spas and salons will also perform this type of hair removal as part of their services in many instances.

Cream hair removal products are known as depilatories. They work by removing the hair just below the surface of the skin. A reaction with the protein structure of the hair causes the hair to virtually dissolve and then it can be washed away or removed by wiping the cream from the body.

Cream hair removal leaves areas free of hair for a minimum of several days and people with hair that grows slowly may enjoy two weeks of hair removal from these products. Depilatories are easy to use and work quickly. It usually takes about one-half hour to remove the hair you don't want. These products are not overly expensive and you can purchase them in most any drugstore, grocery store or superstore.

Cream hair removal products are not a permanent means of ridding yourself of hair, but it is an easy at-home way to get the job done. Most creams are safe for use on the legs, underarm areas and bikini areas. If you want to use a cream hair remover on your face, chin or the tender skin of your neck, you must locate a product especially formulated for use on these sensitive areas.

Some people do not like to use cream hair removal products. These depilatories can be quite messy to apply and you have to leave the product on the skin for a period of time, usually about 20 minutes. Some people fine the smell of cream hair removal chemical to be quite bothersome and a few people even have an allergic reaction to the product. Those people that have especially course hair may find that cream hair removal is not as effective as other hair removal means because they sometimes do not effectively dissolve thick hair.

When using a cream hair removal product for the first time, perform a skin reaction test by applying a small, dime-size spot of the product on the inside, tender skin side, of your forearm. Leave the substance on for a period time that a few minutes longer than will be used for effective hair removal. Should a rash or any redness appear in that area, you may be allergic to the product and you should not apply it to other body parts.
