Almost on a daily basis there is a societal change as to what is viewed as attractive or desirable. Popular fashion certainly changes from generation to generation. In fact even styles that were all the rage just a decade ago can be considered out of fashion today. And by the standards of today's fashion, even moderate facial and body hair is considered unsightly and unattractive. This has given rise to techniques such as laser hair removal for both women and men to remove any extra hair from the face, arms, legs, and chest areas. However, laser hair removal is not totally risk-free. Because of the pain involved in the laser hair removal procedure there is a risk of excessive use of pain-dulling creams such as lidocaine. Even patients who are not allergic to lidocaine can still experience breathing problems, double vision, and even death if the cream is not administered in the correct amounts. If patients are aware of the dangers of excessive lidocaine they may not choose to have the laser hair removal procedure afterall. Although laser hair removal has some risks it also has some rewards. It is still less painful than waxing. Another advantage of laser hair removal is that it can address difficult to reach areas such as your back. So even though there are risks laser hair removal in the long run can save you time, money and the inconvenience of shaving or waxing.
