Are you looking for safe and effective hair removal options? If you have done any research at all then you have likely noticed that there are many different products and devices on the market that claim to be the best way to remove your unwanted hair. So how a person to choose what is is really the best method? Well, the first thing you need to do is examine your options. If you want to get the truth about hair removal, you might start with looking into websites that don’t sell hair removal products. This should contain articles, research, insight and helpful information that is not biased towards any particular product line. Next, you will need to consider what type of hair you need to have removed. There are different types of unwanted hair which can show up in different parts of the body. It has varying texture and coarseness and can be removed in different ways. Depending on the type of hair you want to remove, you can make a better decision on what is the best removal method. When it comes to making this decision, you have your hands full because there is no shortage of products to choose from. In the world of hair removal, there have been some pretty questionable- and some downright outrageous- products to hit the market. For example, the X-Ray Epilator by the Tricho System was a hair removal system released and used in the 1920s and 30s. It was created by a doctor and claimed to be a safe and permanent method of hair removal. By the 1940's it became clear that the hair removal device was causing cancer, disfigurement, and death in customers and it was banned in the United States. While not all hair removal products today are as bad (or as dangerous) as the X-Ray Epilator, they are just as much a waste of money. Most do not do half- or any- or what they claim to do and some are just downright outrageous. Some things to avoid right away are electric tweezers, transdermal electrolysis and other topical creams and ointments. Look out for outrageous or quack claims such as “Painless and permanent”, “No side effects”, “Clinically proven”, “More effective than electrolysis, and without the needle.”, “Hair can conduct enough energy to kill the root.”, “Offer your salon clients permanent hair removal.”, “Makes a great home business.” You should also be wary of any hair removal product sold via an infomercial. Ask your doctor or dermatologist if you have questions regarding a particular hair removal product.
